Our third and fourth grade students will participate in computer-based testing for both English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics. Both the ELA and Mathematics exams will be administered in two sessions on two consecutive school days. Testing dates for Concord Road Elementary School are below:
- ELA Testing Dates: May 5 and May 6
- Mathematics Testing Dates: May 12 and May 13
The purpose of the exams is to measure students’ knowledge and skills as defined by the grade-level New York State Next Generation Learning Standards (NGLS) in ELA and Mathematics. The ELA exam consists of multiple-choice questions, 2-credit constructed-response questions, and 4-credit (Grade 4 only) constructed-response questions. The Mathematics exam consists of multiple-choice questions and 1-, 2-, and 3-credit constructed-response questions.
The average time to complete the exams ranges from 60-80 minutes for ELA and 55-75 minutes for Mathematics. Please know students will have as much time as they need each day to answer the questions in the test sessions within the confines of the regular school day.
Our students are well positioned to take these assessments. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Assistant Principal Tiffany Babb at 914-231-0800 or via email, tbabb@ardsleyschools.org.
