Principal For A Day Makes A Big Decision

When Principal for the Day Mr. Brycen arrived for his morning meeting on Wednesday, June 3, he came prepared with a clear plan and a list of goals. As he reviewed and prioritized them with school leaders, he quickly identified his top priority: no homework for Concord Road School students.

Mr. Brycen’s reasoning was thoughtful and timely. With the Knicks scheduled to play at 8 p.m. that evening, he felt students should be free to enjoy the game without worrying about homework. While eliminating homework altogether was not an option, he worked toward a compromise. After some discussion, it was agreed that there would be no homework due the following day—a solution that balanced fun with responsibility.

Later that afternoon, Mr. Brycen proudly prepared to share the news with the school. Before dismissal, he announced:

"Good afternoon, CRS students! This is your Principal for the Day, Mr. Brycen, reporting at your service with a very important announcement: there will be no homework due tomorrow. That means we do not have to do any homework tonight! I repeat, no homework tonight! Let’s goooooooo KNICKS! Thank you and have a great afternoon, Panthers!"

It was a memorable day for both Mr. Brycen and the CRS community—and one that students were unlikely to forget. A very big thank you to the Ardsley Education Foundation for making this dream a reality through their their silent auction during this year's Gala event.
