On Friday, October 24, Concord Road Elementary kindergarteners and Ardsley High School seniors came together for a beloved tradition, the annual “Read to Me” event. The celebration highlights the joy of reading and the special connection between the district’s youngest and oldest learners.

The morning began in the Primary Cafeteria, where seniors were welcomed by administrators and the senior class president. Kindergarten students then kicked off the event with a performance of the “T-Shirt Song,” led by Mr. Swerdlin, before everyone transitioned to classrooms for the main activity.

Inside the kindergarten rooms, seniors read aloud to small groups of students, sharing stories that sparked smiles, laughter, and curiosity. Kindergarteners brought their own favorite books or selected one from their classroom library, while some seniors shared cherished stories from their own childhoods.

The event remains a highlight of the school year for both age groups. It gives seniors the chance to mentor and inspire, while giving kindergarteners a joyful, memorable reading experience.
