CRS Young Mathematicians Rise to the Challenge
This year, many of our 2nd and 3rd grade mathematicians participated in the Continental Mathematics League Challenge. These students took part in a series of three nationally administered meets at their grade level. Each meet challenged them with problems that required mathematical logic, analytical reasoning, and integrated problem-solving skills. We had a total of 248 participants this year, setting a new record for the highest number of winners to date!
The Pride in Perseverance Award is awarded to those students who remain persistent and show improvement, achieving high scores throughout the meet period. Our 2nd-grade Pride in Perseverance Award winners were Matthew Blanco, Maxwell Brown, Whitney Goldberg, Annabel Jung, Harry Slone, and Stephanie Wang. Our 3rd-grade Pride in Perseverance Award winners were Andrew Li, Mila Santo, and Elizabeth Xue.
The top 2nd-grade scorers and grade winners for this year’s Continental Mathematics League competition were Raphael Pesola and Henry Cohen, each scoring 14 out of 18 possible points.
The top 3rd-grade scorer and grade winner for this year’s Continental Mathematics League competition was Zayan Faruquie, who earned the maximum 18 points with a perfect score!
A huge congratulations to our winners and all of our CRS Panthers who participated!
