CRS Students Help Bring a Mural to Life

CRS Students Help Bring a Mural to Life
A long hallway with a partially completed mural on the wall, featuring cartoon-like drawings, and a wet floor sign in the foreground.

What began as an idea proposed by Dr. Bhat last year became a vibrant, school-wide collaboration celebrating creativity and community at CRS. With support from the PTSA and the Ardsley Education Foundation, the project was co-funded and further energized by the student-led Coins for Colors fundraiser. Through friendly competition and fun incentives like extra recess and pajama days, students proudly raised $4,700 to help bring the mural to life.

A vibrant mural adorns the walls in a hallway featuring colorful and whimsical illustrations of various natural elements and figures.

Artist Joe Pimentel visited CRS to lead a school-wide assembly, sharing his artistic process and inviting students to contribute their own artwork for possible inclusion. All CRS students participated by submitting designs, and 3rd and 4th grade students - along with SC3 and SC4 - took part in the painting portion, making the project a truly inclusive and collaborative experience. The finished mural now stands as a colorful reflection of student creativity and the strong sense of community at CRS.
