Constitution Day Brings History to Life at CRS

Constitution Day Brings History to Life at CRS

Students at Concord Road School marked Constitution Day by learning about the U.S. Constitution and its lasting impact on our nation. Through engaging classroom activities and discussions, students explored the history of the Constitution, the rights and responsibilities it establishes, and the principles that continue to shape American democracy.

“Celebrating Constitution Day early in the school year sets the foundation for our entire school culture. It connects the big ideas of civic responsibility and fairness directly to R.O.A.R., empowering our youngest learners to understand how their daily choices build a respectful, responsible, and unified school community,” said Jill Rogovic, second grade teacher.

Originally observed as Citizenship Day, Constitution Day was established by an Act of Congress in 2004. Each year on September 17, federally funded educational institutions take time to recognize the signing of the U.S. Constitution in Philadelphia on September 17, 1787. The day provided CRS students with a meaningful opportunity to deepen their understanding of citizenship, civic responsibility, and the foundations of our government.
